గ్రహాల వేగం అంటే రాశులు ఎన్ని రోజుల్లో లేదా సంవత్సరాలలో ఒక పూర్ణ చక్రం పూర్తిచేస్తాయో. ఇవి సూర్యుడి చుట్టూ తిరిగే గమనాన్ని బట్టి ఉంటాయి:

సూర్యుడు ఒక పూర్ణ రాశి చక్రం పూర్తి చేయడానికి ఒక సంవత్సర ( 365.25 రోజులు ) కాలం పడుతుంది అంటే 360 డిగ్రీలను ఇంచుమించుగా ఒక్క రోజుకు ఒక్క డిగ్రీ ముందుకు వెళుతూ ఉంటాడు.
చంద్రుడు:
చంద్రుడు ఒక రాశిలో సుమారు 2.25 రోజులు ఉండి, 27.3 రోజుల్లో ఒక పూర్ణ చక్రం పూర్తి చేస్తాడు.
కుజుడు:

అస్తంగత్వం
రవి ఇతర గ్రహాలు బుధ, గురు , శుక్ర, శని, కుజ కలిసినప్పుడు అస్తంగత్వం జరిగే అవకాశం ఉంది, సూర్యుని యొక్క కిరణాలు తట్టుకోలేక గ్రహాలు మారిపోయే అవకాశం ఉంటుంది.
ముఖ్యంగా గురు మౌడ్యమి, శుక్ర మౌడ్యమి మనం గమనిస్తూ ఉంటాం .ఎప్పుడైతే రవి గురువుల లేక రవి శుక్రులు కలిసిన సమయంలో వివాహాలు నిషిద్ధం సాంప్రదాయ జ్యోతిష్యం ప్రకారం.
రవికి వెనుక కన్నా ముందుగా గ్రహాలు ఉంటే రవి యొక్క కిరణాలతో ఇబ్బంది పడుతూ ఉంటాయి. దీని యొక్క శక్తి దాదాపు పది నుంచి 12° వరకు ఉంటూ ఉంటుంది.
ఒక గ్రహము రవితో కలిసి ఉన్నప్పటికీ ఉచ్చ పొందిన స్వక్షేత్రము అయినా ఈ దోషము వర్తించదు.
రవి శుక్రుల కలయిక వల్ల కొన్ని సందర్భాలలో పురుషుల్లో సంతానోత్పత్తి సమస్యలు కూడా ఏర్పడవచ్చు.
మనం సహజంగా చూసే నక్షత్ర నాధుడిని పరిశీలించి మెరుగైన ఫలితం చెప్పడానికి ప్రయత్నిద్దాం.
గ్రహ యుద్ధం
కుజుడు యుద్ద కారకమైన గ్రహం, రాహు, కేతు, రవి చంద్రులతో తప్ప ఇతర గ్రహాలైన శని, శుక్ర, బుధ, గురువులతో కలిసినప్పుడు గ్రహ యుద్ధం ఏర్పడును.
అయితే ఒకే రాశిలో కుజుడుతో ఇతర గ్రహం కలిసినప్పుడు అందులోనూ ఒకే డిగ్రీలో కలిస్తే గ్రహ యుద్ధం ఏర్పడుతుంది.
ఈ రెండు గ్రహాల స్కూటాన్ని మనం ఆ రాశిలో పరిశీలించినప్పుడు ఎవరైతే తక్కువ గ్రహస్పటాన్ని (Planet Degrees) కలిగి ఉంటారో ఆ గ్రహం గెలిసినట్టు మిగిలింది ఓడినట్టు.
ఉదాహరణకు మేష లగ్నానికి కుజుడు, శుక్రులు కలిసి గ్రహ యుద్ధం ఏర్పడింది. (మిథునం లో శుక్రుడు 9.5 డిగ్రీలో ఉన్నాడు, కుజుడు 10.20 డిగ్రీలో ఉన్నాడు) లగ్నాధిపతి అయిన కుజుడు యుద్ధంలో ఓడిపోయాడు, శుక్రుడు గెలిచాడు. దీనివల్ల జాతకుడు వ్యసనాలకు బానిస అయ్యే అవకాశం ఉంది ఎప్పుడు లగ్న యోగ కారకుడు మాత్రమే గెలవాలి.
షష్ఠాష్టకాలు & పాపార్గళం
షష్ఠాష్టకాలు అంటే ఒక గ్రహం నుంచి మరో గ్రహం 6 లేక 8 వ స్థానంలో ఉండడమే.
సాంప్రదాయ జ్యోతిష్యంలో ఏ స్థానాధిపతి అయిన మరో గ్రహంతో షష్ఠాష్టకాలు పొందితే ఆ భావాన్ని ఇబ్బంది పెడతాడు అనేది ఒక నానుడి.
శుభగ్రహాల మధ్య షష్ఠాష్టకాలు కన్నా పాప గ్రహాల మధ్య షష్ఠాష్టకాలు మరింత ఇబ్బంది పెట్టే అవకాశం ఉంటుంది.
ఏ గ్రహాల మధ్య షష్ఠాష్టకాలు మంచిది కాకపోయినప్పటికీ శని కుజుల మధ్య షష్ఠాష్టకాలు శుభప్రదంగా పరిగణిస్తారు.
పాశ్చాత్య జ్యోతిష్యంలో పురోగమన గ్రహాన్ని పరిశీలించి జ్యోతిష్య ఫలితాలు చెబుతూ ఉంటారు. ఇక్కడ చెప్పే ఈ షష్ఠాష్టకాలు దానికి దగ్గర పోలికను నేను గమనించాను.
ఒక గ్రహానికి మరోగ్రహం ఆరవ స్థానంలో ఉన్నప్పుడు కొంతకాలానికి ఆ రెండు గ్రహాల మధ్య 180 డిగ్రీస్ సమసప్తక స్థితి ఏర్పడి అశుభ ఫలితాన్ని ఇస్తుంది.
అష్టమంలో ఉన్న గ్రహము చిన్న గ్రహమైన శీఘ్రగమనంతో కేంద్ర దృష్టిని ఏర్పరిచి అశుభ ఫలితాన్ని ఇస్తుంది.
కానీ కుజునకు శని ఆరవ స్థానంలో ఉన్నప్పుడు మాత్రం శని మందగ్రహం కావున శీఘ్రముగా కదలక అక్కడే ఉండి కుజుడు పురోగమనము చెంది శని గ్రహమునకు కోనస్థితిని ఏర్పరిచి ఏ విషయాన్ని అయినా పట్టుదలతో సాధించగలుగుతాడు.
ఒక గ్రహానికి ఆరు ఎనిమిదిలో కానీ రెండు 12లో కానీ పాప గ్రహ సంబంధం వలన అవి అంత సులువుగా శుభ ఫలితాలను ఇవ్వవు.
ఇది సాధారణంగా మనకి అర్థం కావాలని మాత్రమే తెలియజేశాను. మనం మాత్రం నక్షత్ర జ్యోతిష్యాన్ని నూటికి నూరు శాతం అనుసరిస్తాం.
పుష్కర నవాంశ
ఒక గ్రహము ఉచ్చ రాశి తర్వాత అంత బలమైన స్థానము ఈ పుష్కర నవాంశ, ఏ గ్రహమైన ఈ పుష్కర నవాంశ పొందిన దాని నక్షత్ర నాధుడు అనుకూలంగా ఉన్న విశేషమైన ఫలితాన్ని ఇవ్వగలదు.
నక్షత్రాలకు అండర్లైన్ చేశాను, అవి పుష్కర నవాంశ + వర్గోత్తమం ( నవాంశ లో కూడా అదే రాశి లో ఉంటాయి ), అంటే అవి ఇంకా విశేషం.

వర్గోత్తమము అంటే ఒక రాశిలో ఉన్న గ్రహము, నవాంశలో కూడా అదే రాశిలో ఉండడమే, రాశులకు 4 రకాల తత్వాలు ఉన్నాయి.( అగ్ని, భూమి, వాయు, ఆకాశం )
ఉదాహరణకు కుజుడు అగ్ని తత్వ గ్రహం కో , రాశి మరియు నవాంశ లో అగ్ని తత్వంలో ఉంటె బలవంతుడు , ఇప్పుడు కుజుడు జాతకంలో అనుకూలం అయితే శుభ ఫలితాలు, ప్రతి కులం అయితే అశుభ ఫలితాలు ఇవ్వగలడు.
ప్రతి రాశిలో 9 నక్షత్ర పాదాలు ఉంటాయి, చర రాశులలో 1వ పాదం, స్థిర రాశులలో 5వ పాదం, ద్విస్వభావ రాశులలో 9వ పాదం వర్గోత్తమము చెందుతాయి. మేషం చర రాశి, వృషభం స్థిర రాశులు , మిథునం ద్వి స్వభావ రాశి ఇదే క్రమం మిగిలిన రాశుల ఆపదాయించాలి.

ద్రేక్కాణం అనేది మరో వర్గ చక్రం, షోడశ వర్గులు ఒక భాగం, ఒక రాశిలో ఉన్న గ్రహము, ద్రేక్కాణంలో కూడా అదే రాశిలో ఉండడమే ఉత్తమ ద్రేక్కాణం.
చర రాశులలో మొదటి 10 డిగ్రీలు, స్థిర రాశులలో 10-20 డిగ్రీలు, ద్విస్వభావ రాశులలో 20-30 డిగ్రీలు ఉత్తమ ద్రేక్కాణముగా పరిగణిస్తారు.
గ్రహలు ఎన్ని వర్గ చక్రాలలో అదే రాశిలో ఉంటే అంత బలం అని సాంప్రదాయ జోతిష్యనమ్మకం. గ్రహ బలం ఆధారంగా శుభ, అశుభ ఫలితాల తీవ్రత నిర్ణయిస్తారు.
ఉత్తమ ద్రేక్కాణంలోని వర్గోతమపాదాలు, పరివర్తన పాదాలు చాలా విశేషమైనవి. గ్రహాలు ఈ భాగంలో ఉంటే బలం కలిగిన్నట్టు పరిగణిస్తారు.

ఇప్పటిదాకా మనం నక్షత్ర జ్యోతిష్యాన్ని మాత్రమే మాట్లాడుకుందాం, చివరి వరకు మాట మార్చేది లేదు.
గ్రహము యొక్క నక్షత్రాధిపతి, దానికి సంబంధించిన కేంద్రంలో ఉంటే విశేషమైన దిగ్బలాన్ని ఆగ్రహం సొంతం చేసుకుంటుంది, ఒకవేళ నక్షత్ర నాథుడితో కలిసి ఆ కేంద్రంలోనే ఉంటే మరింత విశేషం.

రాశిలో బలమైన గ్రహం & గ్రహాల వరుస
గ్రహాల వరుస క్రమం అనేది, ఒక రాశిలో బలమైన గ్రహం కనిపెట్టే విషయంలో చాలా బాగా ఉపయోగపడుతుంది.
అసలు ఒక రాశిలో బలమైన గ్రహం ఎందుకు కనిపెట్టలి అంటే, మీరు ఏదో ఒక భావాన్ని విశ్లేషిస్తున్నారు, ఆ భావంలో ఒకటి కంటే ఎక్కువ గ్రహాలు ఉన్నాయనుకోండి, ఒక బాగోని గ్రహం ఒక రాశిని గాని, ఒక భావాన్నికి గాని నాయకత్వం వహించిన కచ్చితంగా ఆ బావని పాడు చేస్తుంది.
మనకి పాత సామెత ఒకటి ఉంది. మేసే గాడిదను, కూసే గాడిద చెడగొడుతుంది అంటారు.
ఒక రాశిలో బలమైన గ్రహాన్ని కనిపెట్టి, అది ఎలా ఆ భావాన్ని ఇబ్బంది పేడుతుందనేది చెప్పే ప్రయత్నం చేస్తాను.

ఒకటికంటే ఎక్కువ గ్రహాలు ఉన్నప్పుడు స్వక్షేత్రం పొందిన గ్రహం బలవంతుడు అవుతాడు, తరువాత ఉచ్చ, స్వ నక్షత్రం ఈ విధంగా బలవంతులవుతారు.
కొన్ని సందర్భాలలో ఏ గ్రహము ఈ విధమైన బలాన్ని పొందకుండా కేవలం కలిసి ఉంటాయి, అలాంటప్పుడు దిగ్బలం పొందిన గ్రహం బలవంతుడు అవుతాడు.
అనేక గ్రహాలు దిబ్బలం పొందిన ఈ విధమైన గ్రహాల వరుసక్రమంతో బలవంతుడిని కనిపెట్టవచ్చు.
గ్రహాల వరుస క్రమం
రాహు, కేతు, రవి, చంద్ర, శుక్ర, గురు, శని, కుజ, బుధ
అయితే ఈ విధమైన గ్రహాల వరుస క్రమం అనేది ఏ విధంగా నిర్ణయించారు అంటే PSA రచయిత అయిన శ్రీ NV రాఘవాచారి గారు నాడీ గ్రంథాల నుంచి సేకరించి మనకు అందించారు.
ముఖ్య గమనిక నీచ గ్రహం బలబల నిర్ణయాలలో పాల్గొన్నది, అంటే రెండు గ్రహాలు ఉన్నప్పుడు ఒక గ్రహం నీచ పడితే, చూడగానే నీచం పొందని గ్రహమే బలవంతుడని చెప్పేయవచ్చు.
గ్రహాలు - గుణాలు
సహజంగా గుణములు త్రిగుణాలు, అవి సాత్విక, రాజశిక, తామసికాలు. ఈ గుణములను గ్రహాలకు ఆపాదించారు.
ఎప్పుడైతే ఒక గ్రహము సరైన గుణము పొందక, వ్యతిరేక భావంలో (6,8,12) ఉన్న కచ్చితంగా అక్కడ గ్రహం వల్ల ఆ భావమునకు ఏదో ఒక దోషం వచ్చును.
సాత్విక గుణం: ప్రతిఫలాపేక్ష లేకుండా సత్కృతయంతో సహాయం చేసే మనస్తత్వం కలిగి ఉండడం.
గురు,బుధులు సాత్విక గణాన్ని కలిగి ఉంటారు.
రాజశిక గుణం: ప్రతిఫలాన్ని ఆశిస్తూ సహాయం చేయడం.
రవి,చంద్ర, శుక్రులు రాజశిక గుణాన్ని కలిగి ఉంటారు.
తామసిక గుణం: పదింతలు ప్రతిఫలాన్ని ఎక్కువగా ఆశించే మనస్తత్వం కలిగి ఉండడం.
కుజ శని రాహు కేతువులు తామసిక గుణం కలిగిన గ్రహాలు.
ప్రతి గ్రహానికి కలిగిన గుణాల ఆధారంగా వాటి సొంత రాశులు అవే గుణాన్ని కలిగి ఉంటాయి.
గ్రహాలు ఎప్పుడూ తమ గుణానికి సంబంధించిన నక్షత్రంలో ఉంటే, అందులోనూ తన సొంత రాశిలో ఉంటే ఇంకా బలాన్ని కలిగి ఉంటాయి.
ఉదాహరణకు గురువు మీనంలో రేవతి నక్షత్రంలో, బుధుడు మిధునంలో పునర్వసు నక్షత్రంలో
చంద్రుడు వృషభంలో రోహిణి నక్షత్రంలో ఉంటే వారి యొక్క గుణాలు పరిపూర్ణంగా ఉన్నట్టు.
ఇక్కడ మరో విశేషమేంటంటే ప్రతి గ్రహము తమ సొంత రాశిలో ఉంటూ నవాంశలో వర్గోతం చెందుతున్నాయి.
ఇలా ప్రతి గ్రహానికి ఎల్లవేళలా ఆ నక్షత్రాల్లో ఉండాలండడం సాధ్యపడే విషయం కాదు, రవి రాజసిక గ్రహం కదా, శుక్రుడు యొక్క నక్షత్రంలో ఉండవచ్చు అది మరో రాజశిక గ్రహం కనుక, కానీ తామసిక గ్రహ నక్షత్రాల్లో ఉండకూడదు.
కొంతవరకు సాత్విక గ్రహాలు రాజశి కనక్షత్రాల్లో గాని, రాజసిక గ్రహాలు సాత్విక నక్షత్రాల్లో ఉన్న పరవాలేదు. తామసిక గ్రహాలు సాత్విక నక్షత్రాల్లో, సాత్విక గ్రహాలు తామసిక నక్షత్రాల్లో అస్సలు ఉండకూడదు. మరింత అర్థం కావడానికి కింద ఒక పట్టికని ఇస్తున్నాను.

గ్రహాల వక్రత్వం & చాయా గ్రహాలు
సూర్యగ్రహణం, చంద్రగ్రహణం వచ్చినప్పుడు సూర్యుడు ,చంద్రుడు రాహుకేతులతో కలుస్తారు. దీనివల్ల భూమిపై కాంతి ప్రసరణ జరగదు, కాంతి లేని ప్రపంచం మనుగడ అసాధ్యం.
సూర్యుడు తన యొక్క కాంతిని గ్రహాల మీద ప్రసరింప చేయడం వలన తిరిగి గ్రహాల మీద పడిన కాంతి భూమిపై పరివర్తన చెందుతుంది.
గ్రహాల వక్రత్వం (Retrograde):
వక్రత్వం అంటే ఒక గ్రహం తన సాధారణ గమనం కంటే వెనక్కి తిరుగుతున్నట్లు కనిపించడమని అర్థం. ఇది భూమి నుండి గ్రహం చూసినప్పుడు ఒక గ్రహం కక్ష్య మార్పు వల్ల జరుగుతుంది.
గ్రహాలు తమ కక్ష నుంచి సూర్యుడికి దూరంగా సంచరించడం గాని లేక మధ్యలో ఏదైనా గ్రహం అడ్డు రావడం వల్ల గాని తమ కాంతిని భూమిపై సరిగా ప్రసరింప చేయలేవు ఇలాంటి పరిస్థితినే మనం వక్రత్వం అని అర్థం చేసుకోవచ్చు.
నా దృష్టిలో గ్రహణం, వక్రత్వం, గ్రహాలు రాహు కేతు తో కలవడం అన్నీ ఒకటే.
జాతక చక్రంలో గ్రహాలు ఏదో ఒక భావానికి ఆధిపత్యం వహిస్తాయి, ఈ కాంతి లేని పరిస్థితి వల్ల జాతకుడు జీవితంలో ఆ భావంలో కాంతి ఉండదు.

ఉదాహరణకు తులారాశిలో గురువు స్వాతిలో ఉన్నాడు వృశ్చిక రాశిలో రాహు విశాఖ నక్షత్రంలో ఉన్నాడు. వీరిద్దరి మధ్య నక్షత్ర పరివర్తనం జరిగింది, గురుదశ జరుగుతుందనుకోండి, గురువు పరివర్తనం వలన వృశ్చికంలో ఉన్నట్టు, తన స్వనక్షత్రంలో ఉన్నట్టు ప్రవర్తిస్తాడు. ఇప్పుడు కుజుడు యొక్క నక్షత్ర నాథుడు అనుకూల భావాల్లో ఉంటే ఆ దశ శుభ ఫలితాలను ఇస్తుంది.
శుభ గ్రహాల మధ్య పరివర్తన : రెండు శుభ గ్రహాల మధ్య పరివర్తన ఎప్పుడూ శుభ ఫలితాలను ఇస్తుంది.

We have already discussed that the zodiac (Rashi Chakra) is like the earth, the Nakshatras (stars) are like roads or pathways, and the planets are like vehicles. If we understand how favorably these vehicles operate on a given terrain and road, then we can easily read a horoscope.
What matters is not how many things you know, but how many important things you remember and use as needed. As the saying goes, "Even a spoonful of milk from a Gangi cow is enough." By the time all these articles are complete, you will realize with a smile how little you actually need to remember to deliver impressive predictions, using whatever memory capacity you have.
Climbing each step does not mean forgetting the previous lessons and reading only the current one. If you remember those earlier lessons and then read this one, you can deliver much better astrological predictions.
The Nine Planets (Navagrahas)
Just as we constantly think of friends and dear ones even when they are far away -- in the old days we used to write letters and express our feelings beautifully, and now we use video calls to feel as if they are right beside us --
Similarly, if we think of these planets as our friends or dear ones, they are always moving. We can learn which Nakshatra they are in today, which Pada they have moved into, and what changes this brings for each Lagna (ascendant). We can keep thinking about the planets like this, maintain a small diary to preserve our observations, and one day, when our astrology skills have matured, we will look back and laugh fondly at those notes.
Only when we fully understand planetary strength (Graha Bala) can we determine what percentage of influence a planet exerts on a particular Bhava (house), and thereby understand in which area of life a person will experience happiness and in which area they will face difficulties.

Among the nine planets, only the Sun (Surya) is self-luminous. The Sun and Moon are always visible celestial bodies. Rahu and Ketu are only shadow planets (Chhaya Grahas), meaning they do not physically exist in the sky. The remaining five planets are called the Pancha Tara Grahas (five star-planets): Mars (Kuja), Mercury (Budha), Jupiter (Guru), Venus (Shukra), and Saturn (Shani). These five planets have the potential to go retrograde when they move far from the Sun.
Retrograde means appearing to move backward. Planets always move forward, but when viewed from Earth they appear to go backward. When they are far from the Sun, the Sun's rays do not fall on them properly, and their light reflection does not reach Earth. This is considered the defect of retrogression (Vakratwa Dosha). Personally, I consider this defect a curse (Shapa) when it fully manifests in a horoscope, depending on which Bhava it affects.
We have already learned about the planets in the fifth article. Let us try to understand them even more deeply.
If we talk about planets using analogies we have woven, it will be much easier for you to remember.
Imagine planets as people -- they laugh, cry, feel sad, create mischief, sleep, and can be healthy, unhealthy, or cheerful. They exist in whatever mood they please. So we need to understand what state a planet is in and give predictions accordingly. Do not assume that the Sun (Ravi) being a King can only perform royal duties and cannot carry burdens.
The arrangement of planets is like a photograph taken at a specific moment while they move at a certain speed. They remain fixed in that snapshot, and we should not be bewildered looking at it. It is like tasting a cooked dish -- examining how it tastes and what ingredients were used to make it.
Here is another example for everyone to understand: when we go to a shopping website, there are filters to help us buy what we want.

By applying such filters, we get what we need. Similarly, based on the Lagna, we can filter the planets:

By examining such factors and checking off each one as present or absent, you can make predictions very easily.

In astrology, every planet has its own Moola Trikona sign (root trine position). When placed in this sign, the planet displays its highest power. The table below shows the standard Moola Trikona degrees:

Favorable Signs for Planets
Planets are divided into two groups based on their friendships: one is the Jupiter group (Guru Varga) and the other is the Saturn group (Shani Varga).
For easy remembrance, from any planet's position, the 5th sign becomes its friendly sign. By examining this pattern, you can naturally understand who is friendly with whom.
Jupiter Group: Mars (Kuja), Sun (Ravi), Moon (Chandra), Jupiter (Guru), Ketu
Saturn Group: Venus (Shukra), Mercury (Budha), Saturn (Shani), Rahu
Planets are strongest in their own signs, followed by exaltation signs, Moola Trikona signs, and friendly signs.
For example, the Moon gets exalted in Taurus, so Venus's signs are naturally favorable for the Moon.
Venus gets exalted in Pisces, so Jupiter's signs are naturally favorable for Venus.

Behavior of Planets - With an Example
We often see mimicry artists on TV shows imitating various film heroes and entertaining us. They beautifully imitate famous movie dialogues and mannerisms -- acting like Nageswara Rao garu, Rama Rao garu, Krishna garu, or Chiranjeevi garu.
Now imagine asking one person to imitate all nine planets. Just picture it -- it would be great fun, and all of a sudden you would understand the planets' nature.
A small scenario: Let us see how each planet would sell a new mobile phone (iPhone).
A salesman's primary duty is to definitely sell that phone, so everyone tries their best to convince and sell.
Sun (Ravi): This phone is the latest model. It is not available in all shops. It is an exclusive at our store. One advantage is that buyers from our store get doorstep replacement if any problem arises. Since our store has completed 25 years, a one-week campaign is running. The Sun planet conveys information with honesty, royal behavior, and short but deep words.
Moon (Chandra): When the customer asks about a discount, after a long conversation, the Moon offers his own employee coupon code, and in return asks for an emotional commitment to refer some friends. That is how the sale happens.
The Moon excels at soft conversation and emotional persuasion.
Mars (Kuja): This is the latest phone. It is not available in any other store. I am telling you the final price -- please compare. You do not need to give your phone number. Only five pieces are available. By the time you call, I will let you know whether they are still in stock or not.
Mars is a straightforward person. He tells the truth honestly, even admits the flaws. Without trying to convince us, he behaves in a way that motivates us on our own.
Mercury (Budha): Mercury appreciates the other person, presents price comparisons, coupons, and offers, and convincingly demonstrates that this is the best price. The customer feels that no better price is possible and wonders who else would use so many coupons, so they are likely to buy from him.
Mercury has excellent speech, wit, and presentation skills. He also knows a lot about deception.
Jupiter (Guru): He speaks respectfully and conveys the information as it is. Even if the phone is not within their budget, he may inform them about EMI options and easy ways to purchase.
His dignified speech and words filled with wisdom create a feeling of trust that he is telling us the truth.
Venus (Shukra): Venus has an indescribably fun and conversational temperament. He uses words that quickly build rapport. Here, he talks not just about the phone but also about other topics and manages to sell the phone without even discussing it directly. He does not need to talk about the phone -- that is his strategy.
Venus can spin us into fantasies. He is ready for commercial dealings, logic, and even gambling.
Saturn (Shani): Saturn is elusive and diplomatic. Based on the customer's situation, he works to benefit the company, providing only as much information as needed. He never reveals all the available offers until the very end.
Saturn is very diplomatic and somewhat off-truth. He reveals only what needs to be known, when it needs to be known, and maintains many secrets.
Rahu: Rahu can quickly engage us in conversation. He always tries to earn maximum profit while making it appear as though everything is being given to us for free.
How Rahu convinces you is impossible to imagine.
Ketu: Ketu tries to sell while speaking minimally. He also does not reveal the full information until the end. Sometimes he may disclose all offers, and other times he may motivate us about insurance, damage protection, and other additional offers.
In this way, I have tried to describe the behavior of the Navagrahas. If you imagine each planet as a character, you can envision how it would behave in each situation -- based on the Bhava, the Nakshatra it occupies, when conjunct with other planets, when aspected by other planets, and so on. I hope this serves as a first door to your imagination.
Significations of Planets (Graha Karakatwas)
Some planetary significations can be used in predictive astrology depending on the context and timing.
In our life, when a certain person talks to us, we may feel very happy. When that same person stops talking, we may feel equally sad. This means the same thing can cause both happiness and sorrow.
Similarly, whatever signification a planet holds -- if that planet is favorably placed, that signification will be good; if the planet is unfavorably placed, that signification will suffer.
In some special cases, a planet may give unfavorable results regarding a Bhava but favorable results through Yoga. For example, if the Sun (Ravi), the significator of the father (Pitru Karaka), acquires a defect in a horoscope but also carries high authority, the native may not have good rapport or cooperation with the father.

Aspects of Planets (Graha Drishtis)
Every planet naturally aspects the 7th sign from its position. In the sky, planets that are farther from the Sun have additional aspects beyond the 7th aspect.
Mars (Kuja) has the 4th and 8th aspects -- the 4th signifies hard work and the 8th signifies punishment / force.
Jupiter (Guru), being always a full benefic, blesses with past-life merit (Purva Punya) through its 5th and 9th aspects.
Saturn's (Shani) 3rd aspect represents effort, and its 10th aspect represents karma.

Some say Rahu and Ketu have additional 5th and 9th aspects, but I do not give them much importance.
Speed of Planets (Graha Vegam)
The speed of planets refers to how many days or years it takes them to complete one full cycle through the zodiac signs. This depends on their orbital path around the Sun:
Sun (Ravi):
The Sun takes one year (365.25 days) to complete one full zodiac cycle of 360 degrees, meaning it moves approximately one degree per day.
Moon (Chandra):
The Moon stays in one sign for approximately 2.25 days and completes one full cycle in 27.3 days.
Mars (Kuja):
Mars stays in one sign for approximately 45 days to 2 months and completes one full cycle in 687 days.
Mercury (Budha):
Mercury stays in one sign for approximately 14 to 30 days and completes one full cycle in 88 days.
Jupiter (Guru):
Jupiter stays in one sign for approximately 1 year and completes one full cycle in 12 years.
Venus (Shukra):
Venus stays in one sign for approximately 23 days to 2 months and completes one full cycle in 225 days.
Saturn (Shani):
Saturn stays in one sign for approximately 2.5 years and completes one full cycle in 29.5 years.
Rahu:
Rahu stays in one sign for approximately 18 months (1.5 years) and completes one full cycle in 18 years.
Ketu:
Since Ketu is the counterpart of Rahu, it stays in one sign for approximately 18 months (1.5 years) and completes one full cycle in 18 years.
Combustion (Astangatwam)
When the Sun combines with other planets like Mercury, Jupiter, Venus, Saturn, and Mars, combustion may occur. Due to the intensity of the Sun's rays, planets may lose their effectiveness.
Notably, we commonly observe the combustion of Jupiter (Guru Moudyami) and combustion of Venus (Shukra Moudyami). When the Sun conjoins Jupiter or Venus, marriages are traditionally prohibited according to traditional astrology.
Planets placed ahead of the Sun suffer more from its rays than those behind it. This effect typically extends about 10 to 12 degrees.
Even if a planet is conjunct the Sun, this defect does not apply if the planet is exalted or in its own sign.
The conjunction of the Sun and Venus can, in some cases, cause fertility issues in males.
We should naturally examine the Nakshatra Lord and try to give more refined predictions.
Planetary War (Graha Yuddham)
Mars (Kuja) is the war significator planet. A planetary war occurs when Mars conjoins other planets like Saturn, Venus, Mercury, and Jupiter -- excluding Rahu, Ketu, Sun, and Moon.
Specifically, a planetary war occurs when Mars and another planet are in the same sign and especially when they are at the same degree.
When we examine the degree positions of these two planets in that sign, the planet with the lower degree wins, and the other one is considered defeated.
For example, in an Aries Lagna chart, Mars and Venus are in a planetary war in Gemini (Venus at 9.5 degrees, Mars at 10.20 degrees). The Lagna Lord Mars has lost the war, and Venus has won. As a result, the native has a high chance of becoming addicted to vices. The Lagna Yoga Karaka must always win the war.
Shashtashtaka and Papargala
Shashtashtaka means one planet being in the 6th or 8th position from another planet.
In traditional astrology, it is a common saying that if any house lord has a Shashtashtaka relationship with another planet, it will trouble that Bhava.
Shashtashtaka between malefic planets is more troublesome than between benefic planets.
Although Shashtashtaka between any planets is not good, Shashtashtaka between Saturn and Mars is considered auspicious.
In Western astrology, the progressed planet is examined to make predictions. I have noticed that the Shashtashtaka described here closely resembles that concept.
When one planet is in the 6th position from another, after some time those two planets form a 180-degree opposition (Sama Saptaka) which gives inauspicious results.
A planet in the 8th position, being a faster-moving (smaller) planet, forms a square aspect and gives inauspicious results.
However, when Saturn is in the 6th from Mars, since Saturn is a slow planet and does not move quickly, it stays there while Mars progresses to form a trine aspect with Saturn, enabling the native to achieve anything with determination.
When a planet has malefic associations in the 6th-8th or 2nd-12th positions, it does not easily give auspicious results.
I have shared this just for general understanding. We will follow Nakshatra-based astrology one hundred percent.
Pushkara Navamsha
After exaltation, the Pushkara Navamsha is the most powerful position for a planet. If any planet attains Pushkara Navamsha and its Nakshatra Lord is favorable, it can give exceptional results.
I have underlined the Nakshatras that are Pushkara Navamsha + Vargottama (the planet is in the same sign in both Rashi and Navamsha), which makes them even more special.

Vargottamsha (Vargottama)
Vargottama means a planet is in the same sign in both the Rashi chart and the Navamsha chart. Signs have 4 types of elements (Tattwas): Fire, Earth, Air, and Space (Akasha).
For example, Mars is a Fire element planet. If it is in a fire sign in both Rashi and Navamsha, it is very strong. If Mars is favorable in the chart, it gives auspicious results; if unfavorable, it gives inauspicious results.
Each sign contains 9 Nakshatra Padas. In Chara (Cardinal) signs, the 1st Pada is Vargottama. In Sthira (Fixed) signs, the 5th Pada is Vargottama. In Dwiswabhava (Dual) signs, the 9th Pada is Vargottama. Aries is a Cardinal sign, Taurus is a Fixed sign, Gemini is a Dual sign -- this same sequence applies to the remaining signs.

Best Decanate (Uttama Drekkana)
Drekkana is another divisional chart and is part of the Shodasha Vargas (16 divisional charts). When a planet in the Rashi chart is in the same sign in the Drekkana chart as well, it is called Uttama Drekkana (Best Decanate).
In Cardinal signs, the first 10 degrees; in Fixed signs, 10-20 degrees; and in Dual signs, 20-30 degrees are considered Uttama Drekkana.
In traditional astrology, the more divisional charts a planet occupies the same sign in, the stronger it is considered. Planetary strength determines the intensity of auspicious and inauspicious results.
The Vargottama Padas and Parivartana Padas within the Uttama Drekkana are very special. Planets placed in this portion are considered strong.

Exchange Padas (Parivartana Padamulu)
Each Nakshatra has 4 Padas, giving a total of 108 Padas for 27 Nakshatras.
12 Padas are Vargottama, 24 are Parivartana Padas, and 72 are Sanchara (Transit) Padas.
The Vargottama and Parivartana Padas exist within the Uttama Drekkana. These are very special -- Vargottama has been given the highest rank first, followed by Parivartana Padas.
Parivartana Padas means: if two planets are in Aries and Taurus in the Rashi chart, and in the Navamsha the planet in Aries goes to Taurus and the planet in Taurus goes to Aries due to their Nakshatra placement, this constitutes a Parivartana (exchange).
Another special feature is that these Parivartana Padas exchange only with the immediately preceding or succeeding sign.

Nakshatra Digbala (Directional Strength by Star)
In astrology, one cannot predict results without determining planetary strength (Graha Bala). There are many methods to calculate planetary strength, among which the Shad Bala (Six Strengths) is attributed to Parashara. However, there are many differing opinions on its calculation and application.
1. Sthana Bala (Positional Strength)

3. Kala Bala (Temporal Strength)
4. Cheshta Bala (Motional Strength)
5. Naisargika Bala (Natural Strength)
6. Drik Bala (Aspectual Strength)
Sri NV Raghavacharya, author of PSA (Practical Stellar Astrology), based on Nadi texts, presented Digbala in the form of Nakshatra Digbala. This is very easy to calculate based on the Rashi chart. Planetary strength can be determined in eight ways. I will explain how to examine this and what is most important in it.
Planets naturally give special results when they gain lordship of Kendras (angular houses). Kendras indicate the native's hardworking nature. If the Kendras are strong in a chart, the native's life will be good. Each Kendra signifies a different area:
- Lagna (1st house): Knowledge and Health
- 4th house (Chaturtham): Home and Comforts
- 7th house (Saptamam): Social relationships and Marriage
- 10th house (Dashamam): Profession and Authority
Now I will explain how planets naturally gain Digbala:
- Lagna (1st house): Jupiter and Mercury
- 4th house (Chaturtham): Moon and Venus
- 7th house (Saptamam): Saturn and Rahu
- 10th house (Dashamam): Sun, Mars, and Ketu
According to the method I teach, regardless of which Nakshatra a planet is in or what degree it is at, if planets are in these specific Kendras counted from the Lagna, they gain Digbala. This is a natural principle.
So far we have been discussing only Nakshatra-based astrology. We will not change this approach until the very end.
If a planet's Nakshatra Lord is placed in its related Kendra, the planet gains special Digbala. If it is also conjunct the Nakshatra Lord in that same Kendra, it is even more special.
For Leo Lagna: Sun is in the 8th house in Jupiter's Nakshatra. Jupiter and Venus are together in Taurus in the 10th house. Since the Sun's Nakshatra Lord is in the 10th house, it gains Digbala. An additional special factor here is that the 10th Lord is also conjunct there.
Another example: For the same Leo Lagna, if both the Sun and Moon are together in Rohini Nakshatra in the 10th house, it is extremely special because the planet is in its own Nakshatra conjunct the Nakshatra Lord.
I will now explain all the rules below:
- The planet is placed in its related Kendra
For example, Sun in the 10th house, Jupiter in the Lagna
- The planet is in the Nakshatra of a planet placed in the Kendra
For Leo Lagna: Sun is in Capricorn in Dhanishta Nakshatra, while Mars is in the 10th house in Taurus.
- The planet is in the Nakshatra of its related Kendra Lord
For Leo Lagna: Sun is in Venus's Nakshatra.
- The planet is aspected by its needed Kendra Lord
For Leo Lagna: Jupiter is in the 5th house, Sun is in the 11th house. Jupiter gains Digbala by being aspected by the Lagna Lord.
- The planet's Nakshatra Lord is aspected by its related Kendra Lord
For Leo Lagna: Jupiter is in Moola Nakshatra. Since Moola is Ketu's star, Ketu is in Capricorn, and the Sun aspects Ketu from Cancer. Jupiter gains Digbala because its Nakshatra Lord receives the aspect of the Lagna Lord.
- The planet is conjunct its related Kendra Lord
For Leo Lagna: Mars and Venus conjoin in the 4th house. Mars gains Digbala by being conjunct the 10th Lord.
- The planet's Nakshatra Lord is conjunct a Kendra Lord
For Leo Lagna: Sun is in Punarvasu Nakshatra. Jupiter and Venus are together in Pisces. Since the Sun's Nakshatra Lord (Jupiter) is conjunct Venus (the 10th Lord for that Lagna), the Sun gains Digbala.
- The planet is aspected by any planet from its needed Kendra
For Leo Lagna: Sun is in Virgo. Jupiter in Taurus (10th house) aspects the Sun with its 5th aspect. The Sun gains Digbala through Jupiter's aspect from the 10th house.
Important note: According to the Bhinna Pada (Meena Tu Nadi) method, a planet does not gain Digbala if it is in its own Nakshatra and its sign lord is in the needed Kendra.
Strongest Planet in a Sign and Planetary Hierarchy
The planetary hierarchy is very useful in determining the strongest planet in a sign.
Why do we need to find the strongest planet in a sign? When you are analyzing a Bhava and there are multiple planets in it, if a malefic planet leads a sign or Bhava, it will definitely spoil that Bhava.
There is an old saying: "A braying donkey spoils the grazing donkey."
I will try to identify the strongest planet in a sign and explain how it can trouble that Bhava.
The order of priority for finding the strongest planet:
- Own sign (Swakshetram)
- Exaltation sign (Uchcha Kshetram)
- Own Nakshatra (Swa Nakshatram)
- Saturn in Anuradha in Scorpio is considered strong
- Rahu and Ketu are exalted in Scorpio
- Rahu's own sign is Aquarius
- Ketu's own sign is Aries
When there are multiple planets in a sign, the planet in its own sign is the strongest, followed by exaltation, then own Nakshatra, and so on.
In some cases, no planet may have any of these strengths and they may simply be conjunct. In such cases, the planet with Digbala becomes the strongest.
When multiple planets have Digbala, the following planetary hierarchy can be used to determine the strongest:

This planetary hierarchy was determined by Sri NV Raghavacharya, author of PSA, who collected it from Nadi texts and presented it to us.
Important note: A debilitated planet does not participate in the strength determination. That is, when there are two planets and one is debilitated, we can immediately declare the non-debilitated planet as the stronger one.
Planets and Gunas (Qualities)
The natural qualities are the three Gunas (Trigunas): Sattwic, Rajasic, and Tamasic. These qualities have been attributed to the planets.
When a planet does not have the right Guna and is placed in an adverse Bhava (6th, 8th, 12th), some defect will certainly affect that Bhava.
Sattwic Guna: Having the nature to help with selfless good deeds without expecting anything in return.
Jupiter and Mercury possess the Sattwic Guna.
Rajasic Guna: Helping while expecting something in return.
Sun, Moon, and Venus possess the Rajasic Guna.
Tamasic Guna: Having the nature to expect tenfold return for any help given.
Mars, Saturn, Rahu, and Ketu are Tamasic Guna planets.
Based on the Guna of each planet, their own signs also carry the same Guna.
When planets are in a Nakshatra matching their Guna and also in their own sign, they become even stronger.
For example: Jupiter in Pisces in Revati Nakshatra, Mercury in Gemini in Punarvasu Nakshatra,
Moon in Taurus in Rohini Nakshatra -- their Gunas are in perfect alignment.
Another special thing is that every planet in its own sign also becomes Vargottama in the Navamsha.
It is not always possible for every planet to be in such Nakshatras. Since the Sun is a Rajasic planet, it can be in Venus's Nakshatra (another Rajasic planet), but it should not be in a Tamasic planet's Nakshatra.
To some extent, Sattwic planets can be in Rajasic Nakshatras, and Rajasic planets can be in Sattwic Nakshatras without much harm. However, Tamasic planets should absolutely not be in Sattwic Nakshatras, and Sattwic planets should absolutely not be in Tamasic Nakshatras. For better understanding, I provide the following table:

BOME Theory
Sri NV Raghavacharya, author of Practical Stellar Astrology (PSA), collected many insights from various Nadi texts and presented them to us.
He established that benefic planets in their own signs and in odd-numbered signs are strong, while malefic planets in their own signs and in even-numbered signs are strong.
Since Sun and Moon have single lordship (one sign each), they are not included in this theory. Rahu and Ketu do not have their own signs.

Retrogression of Planets and Shadow Planets (Chhaya Grahas)
During a Solar Eclipse or Lunar Eclipse, the Sun and Moon conjoin with Rahu and Ketu. As a result, light does not reach the Earth -- survival is impossible in a world without light.
The Sun projects its light onto the planets, and that reflected light from the planets transforms and reaches Earth.
Retrogression of Planets (Vakratwa):
Retrogression means a planet appears to move backward from its normal direction. This occurs due to the orbital variation when observing a planet from Earth.
When planets travel in their orbit away from the Sun, or when another planet obstructs the path, they cannot properly project their light onto Earth. This situation is what we understand as retrogression.
In my view, eclipses, retrogression, and planets conjoining with Rahu-Ketu are all essentially the same phenomenon.
In a birth chart, planets rule certain Bhavas (houses). Due to this absence of light, the native will lack brightness in that area of life.
I will explain this in more detail in the upcoming lesson on retrograde planets.
The Sun and Moon always travel in a direct (forward) path. Rahu and Ketu always travel in a retrograde path -- that is their normal direction.
The five star-planets (Pancha Tara Grahas) -- Mercury, Venus, Mars, Saturn, and Jupiter -- have the possibility of going retrograde.
Mercury (Budha):
- Goes retrograde 3-4 times per year.
- Retrograde period lasts approximately 24 days.
Venus (Shukra):
- Goes retrograde once every 18 months.
- Retrograde period lasts approximately 42 days.
Mars (Kuja):
- Goes retrograde once every 26 months.
- Retrograde period lasts approximately 60-80 days.
Jupiter (Guru):
- Goes retrograde once every 9 months.
- Retrograde period lasts approximately 120 days.
Saturn (Shani):
- Goes retrograde every year.
- Retrograde period lasts approximately 140 days.
Planets - Bhavas vs Sthanas (Houses vs Positions)
There are many methods for house division (Bhava Vibhajana). Among them, Sripati system and Placidus are very important. We always use only the Placidus system.
In the Placidus system, only the starting degree of a Bhava (house cusp) is taken. A Bhava extends from its starting point to the starting point of the next Bhava.
There is no rule that all Bhavas must be exactly 30 degrees. Some may be 20 degrees and some may be 35 degrees. This varies based on the native's birthplace. There is a scientific calculation behind this, which you can learn if you wish.
A planet may visually appear to be in the 12th position, but if it has crossed the 11th Bhava cusp by 3.2 degrees or more, and if the Bhava and the planet's Nakshatra are different, then that planet will certainly give 11th house results.
In the Pisces Lagna chart shown below, Saturn is in the 11th Bhava in Mars's Nakshatra. The 12th Bhava falls in Jupiter's Nakshatra. Since Saturn is in the 11th Bhava, it will give good results.
Planets - Rashi and Nakshatra Exchange (Parivartana)
If planets exchange at the Rashi level, they give only 25% of the result. But if a Nakshatra-level exchange occurs, they give 75% of the result. Rashi exchange is called Sthula Parivartana (gross exchange), and Nakshatra exchange is called Sukshma Parivartana (subtle exchange).
When a Nakshatra exchange occurs, predictions must be based on the sign lord's Nakshatra. The same principle applies when a planet is in its own Nakshatra.
For example: Jupiter is in Libra in Swati Nakshatra, and Rahu is in Scorpio in Vishakha Nakshatra. A Nakshatra exchange has occurred between them. If Jupiter's Dasha is running, due to the exchange, Jupiter behaves as though it is in Scorpio and in its own Nakshatra. If Mars's (the Nakshatra Lord's) star lord is in favorable houses, that Dasha will give auspicious results.
Exchange between two benefic planets: Always gives auspicious results.
Exchange between a benefic and a malefic planet: One of the two planets will not function properly.
Exchange between two malefic planets: Gives inauspicious results.
One important thing to always remember: Setting aside whether planets are benefic or malefic, auspicious results come only when their Nakshatra Lords are in auspicious positions.

Where Planets Should Be Placed from the Lagna
Some special cases need to be mentioned: when Badhaka lords, Ubhaya Maraka lords, and similar planets are in the 6th, 8th, or 12th positions, they may yield results. But when conjunct with another Dusthana (evil house) lord, careful examination is needed because many such malefic house connections tend to give inauspicious results.

Planets - Lagna - Auspicious and Inauspicious Positions
Lagna, Planets and Nakshatras
For every Lagna, we consider the lords of the 1st, 5th, and 9th houses as Yoga Karakas (benefic agents). However, in some cases, natural malefics like Saturn and Mars may be among them. Sri NV Raghavacharya, based on Nadi texts, identified the Yoga Karaka planets for each Lagna along with benefic planets and described them as follows. The Sun and Moon are never considered malefic planets.
For example, for Taurus Lagna, Mercury is considered the special Yoga Karaka. If any planet is in Mercury's Nakshatra and Mercury is well-placed, that Dasha will give exceptionally good results.
Mercury gains Digbala in the Lagna. Planets placed in Kendras and Konas are considered special. The 2nd and 11th positions are also favorable.

Planet - Condition of the Nakshatra Lord (Star Lord)
Let me try to explain horoscope analysis with just one example.
In a Leo Lagna chart, the special Yoga Karaka is Jupiter, and the Lagna Lord Sun is in the 11th house in Punarvasu Nakshatra. This looks very favorable at first glance. However, since this is Nakshatra-based astrology, the condition of the Nakshatra Lord Jupiter is very important. For Leo Lagna, Jupiter is the special Yoga Karaka.
In the first scenario, if Jupiter is in Capricorn in Uttarashada Nakshatra and becomes Vargottama there -- since it is Vargottama in its debilitation sign, that is not good. Therefore, because the Sun is in that Nakshatra, it cannot give the expected great results.
However, if the same Jupiter is in the 10th house in Krittika Nakshatra, with both planets in the 10th and 11th houses undergoing Nakshatra exchange (Parivartana), it creates a special Yoga.
In this same scenario, if the Moon is also conjunct Jupiter, it gives auspicious results.
However, if Saturn, Rahu, or Mars join this same Jupiter, even though Parivartana exists, Jupiter having acquired many malefic planet associations cannot give auspicious results to the expected level.
Example Horoscope Analysis
In the horoscope shown above, the Lagna is Gemini (Mithuna). The Lagna Lord Mercury is in the 5th house in Vishakha Nakshatra.
The Nakshatra Lord Jupiter is also in the 5th house.
Jupiter in the 5th house -- with the 9th Lord Saturn placed in the 9th house -- aspects Saturn with its 5th aspect, and also aspects the Moon (the 2nd Lord) in the Lagna.
Jupiter being in an auspicious position (5th house Kona) is special, and therefore this Dasha gives auspicious results.
The 5th house signifies education. Jupiter and Mercury are lords of speech. Therefore, this native has the opportunity to gain profits through speech, education, and related matters.
Conclusion (Muginpu)
There is no need to panic thinking that you have to memorize all these topics. Since you have learned them all, they will come to mind when needed. Let me conclude with a simple example.
Rather than where a planet is placed, we must examine where its Nakshatra Lord (Star Lord) is placed.
If the Nakshatra Lord is in auspicious positions, i.e., Kendras and Konas (1, 4, 7, 10, 5, 9), auspicious results will manifest.
Some additional auspicious positions are the 2nd and 11th houses.
If it is in Dusthanas (evil houses), it gives inauspicious results.
(6, 8, 12). The 3rd house gives results only through hardship. Being the 8th from the 8th, in some cases it can also give inauspicious results.
If the planet's Nakshatra is in an auspicious position, then you can additionally check for own sign (Swakshetram), exaltation (Uchcha Kshetram), Moola Trikona, Digbala, friendly sign (Mitra Kshetram), Uttama Drekkana, Vargottama, Pushkara Navamsha, and similar factors. If planets are in Nakshatras of Yoga Karaka lords for the Lagna, they accumulate even more strength.
In this manner, you can easily analyze Bhavas, identify the strongest planet in a Bhava, and examine Dasha-related matters.
