Overview
The Dynamic Natal Chart is a system that compares a person's birth chart (natal) with their chart at any given age or year. It tracks how planetary energy — specifically retrograde/direct motion — changes over a lifetime.
Your birth chart is a snapshot. The Dynamic Natal Chart shows the movie — how planets gain or lose directional energy as they move through retrograde and direct cycles over your lifetime.

Why It Matters
A planet that was retrograde at birth (score: 30) may go direct at age 25 (score: 80). This means during that person's 25th year and onwards, that planet's dasha/bhukti will give significantly better results — even though the natal chart hasn't changed.
Conversely, a planet that was direct at birth may go retrograde at certain ages, temporarily weakening its energy delivery.

How It Works

Using birth date, time, and location — compute planetary positions via WASM ephemeris (Panchangam)
Using birth date + age offset (in days) — compute positions at the selected age/year
Freeze certain elements (Rule 1 & Rule 2) — only retrograde changes matter
Run the RC 7-Rule System on both charts → get Light scores (30-100) for each planet
Display natal and dynamic South Indian charts with comparison table showing score changes

Age/Year Selector
The Dynamic Natal Chart supports ages 0 to 120. Each age corresponds to the person's birthday anniversary in that year.
- Age 0 = Birth chart (natal and dynamic are identical)
- Age 25 = Positions on the person's 25th birthday
- Age 60 = Positions on the person's 60th birthday
Check ages that correspond to major dasha/bhukti transitions — that's when score changes have the most impact on life events.

Chart Generation Rules
Not all planetary positions change in the Dynamic Chart. Only retrograde/direct motion changes matter for energy scoring. Two rules control what gets updated:

Rule 1: Freeze Natal Elements
The following elements are always frozen to their natal (birth) values — they never change in the Dynamic Chart:

Why? Sun and Moon never retrograde. Rahu and Ketu are always retrograde. Cusps define the house system which is birth-moment specific. None of these change directional status, so they're irrelevant to energy scoring.

Score Meanings
The RC 7-Rule System produces one of 4 possible scores for each planet. These represent the planet's "Light" — its ability to deliver results.

No positive conditions met. Planet struggles to deliver results. Dasha period will be challenging.

Dasha Timing
The most impactful use of the Dynamic Natal Chart is checking Light scores during major dasha/bhukti periods:
- Before a dasha starts — check if the dasha lord's Light score improves or weakens at that age
- During a bhukti — check the bhukti lord's dynamic score for that specific year
- Life turning points — significant score jumps (30→80 or 80→30) often coincide with major life changes

Mercury Direct at Birth — Checking All Ages
A person with Mercury direct at birth (score: 80) should check if Mercury goes retrograde at any critical dasha period. If Mercury bhukti runs at age 40 and Mercury's dynamic score drops to 30, the communication/business results during that bhukti will be significantly reduced.
